Quite rightly Moores goal was highlighted as probably the best team goal in League
One today on Quest, only spoiled by their keeper getting a slight touch on the ball on its way into the
back of the net. I sense our boys are really enjoying their football. There's nothing like a win
to bolster confidence and it's really good to see that Thiam, McGeehan and Mowatt are
starting to turn in consistent displays. If Woodrow had been " at it", along with the other chances
we missed , the final score line could have been a lot more emphatic.

Some of the stuff this team team is a total delight to watch. The close quick passing is brilliant at times and it looks like we have a really bright future ahead.

As I expected, Quest omitted the lightening quick break by Brown immediately prior to the goal. This put their defence on the back foot.

Just had the pleasure of watching our highlights on Quest.
That second goal from build up to hitting the net was something else.
Had Man City or Liverpool scored it TV companies would never tire of talking about it.

Over the years I have developed a peverse pleasure from us being ignored by the media. When we are talked about we are usually patronised anyway. Let Sunderland, Luton and Pompey bear the heavy weight of expectation. We are the ninjas who sneak up while nobody is looking

I don't think we're usually patronised. I think a lot of our fans look for any criticism when it's not there.

Quest: fawning over not just our goal but our play in general
Your response: the media always patronise us

that second goal will surely be a contender for January goal of the month....if not the season.

I do, I just don't watch sky looking for any slight criticism of us and ignoring the praise. Watch it with an open mind .they aren't as bad as you think. Alternatively watch sky whist trying to apply the same thinking to most clubs and you will find a lot of criticism if you look for it.

Not sky but radio Sheffield. Barnsley fans complain about how we are hated by their presenters, Sheffield United fans complain that they are and Sheffield Wednesday fans complain that they are. The reason? Because we look for criticism and don't listen objectively. It's a siege mentality that is looking for enemies where there are none.

That's not quite what I said. Quest is aimed at fans of the lower leagues and necessarily takes a different stance from the wider media. At the start of this season as an example rod liddle in the Sunday times tipped us to go up because we were well used to this league and knew that a well aimed kick at an opponent was how to win games in this league. I emailed him , taking issue with both points and never got a reply. I'd call that patronising and lazy journalism. Not untypical though

On a related point. IMO the coverage on Quest is a million times better than the guff that was served up on Channel 5. Just straight a Footy highlights, and although not a fan of Colin Murray, I’ve walmed to him on how he presents the programme.
