I'll always have an irrational love for Darren Sheridan.
if its pitch punch ups stevie coopers your man
Charlie Bishop anyone?
Allan Little for me.
Made you shudder when he went in for a tackle. Wouldn't get to half-time in any gaem today.....
Norman Hunter was quite hard as I recall.
Skinner for me too. Saw him play, and he wouldn'y have played many games today due to the number of cards given for the smallest indiscretion.
Couldn't split these 3 - Duncan Sharp, Bannister (left back) and local lad Arthur Glover
Can't split these three :- Duncan Sharp, Bannister (left back ex Leeds U) Local lad Arthur Glover.
Alan Little without a doubt. Graham Pugh was a dirty bugger too
Another vote for Alan Little. I remember one tackle against another player of equal repute (sorry, can't remember team or player). Neither player backed off and as they hit each other, there was a low whistle from the Brewery stand and tough miners were forced to look away fearing the worst. I remember the ref blew his whistle expecting broken legs all around. Little was first up though, leaving his opponent a broken man.
Little is a great shout - gwyn Thomas was well well hard too. Thomas for me. Btw your posts on the demise of hill and your support for flicker as replacement are also v good shouts. Don't wanna blow smoke up yer arris but you know your stuff. Keep posting - v interesting reads
