No. I probably won't go regardless of who we play if we got to the final. If the competition is deemed to be a success then changes are unlikely.

P.s Fitzy. I wasn't accusing you of being arrogant personally. I just dont feel we, as a club or fans, are in a position to look down our noses at any legitimate trophy.
We may detest the inclusion of youth teams but all the clubs we had to finish ahead of to win it last time are still in it.
I'm also pretty sure that no matter what the vindication or reward for ant boycott strategy may be there is a large number of fans who'd attend matches regardless.

I wouldn’t say that Saturdays match was meaningless POR.Its an FA cup match which I think is a great competition and I hope we get far in it.Hopefully after this season we don’t have to join it till the 3rd round.

I don't think anyone is looking down their nose at the competition. I just feel totally disinterested when we're fielding a weakened team against some youngsters.

If Tuesdays attendance is owt to go by, over 75% of our regulars feel exactly the same.

I think why people get in a kerfuffle about premier clubs being allowed to enter youth/reserve team in the competition is simply the fact that the concept of the competition was that it was designed for teams from the bottom two divisions ,thus offering them a chance to win a trophy & a trip to wembley , something exclusively for the lower league teams but what sticks in the throat is that the premier league have stuck their oar in & suddenly the competition has become about what the premier clubs want & not what it was meant for .

Fully agree. Youth teams in it is a disgrace.
Barnsley fans not turning up at the final would have no impact on the powers that be whatsoever.
A blanket boycott of the competition by all fans would. Clearly though that's never going to happen.

The fact that the advance ticket price was set so low speaks for itself. How many of the 2300 would have turned out if the price had been the same as the FA Cup tie? Or, even worse, the regular match price? They've made a serious cock-up with this tournament and they know it. I'll be gob smacked if they don't make further changes next time around.

Anybody care to hazard a guess at what the price might be if we got to Wembley and ended up playing, say, Brighton U21s?
I doubt they'd be able to set it low enough for most of us to be bothered - although personally I wouldn't go if they paid me.

The annoying thing about all this is that some of the U21 sides are already out, so that's a massive 3 x 90 minutes of "grown up" football, that their young uns will have experienced. How much development will that have given them? Not very much. Yet they've ruined a nice little tournament for the sake of it.

    Of course.

I’d watch us compete for a trophy at Wembley against anyone, it could be a pub team for all I care & I’d still go.

No chance. Been to Wembley enough times so I'm not willing to pay £150 - £200 for a glorified friendly/reserve team fixture.
