They may not get a premiere club but they certainly can get a lot more money than we can pay ,
With that in mind I don't think they're trying to kid anyone imo.

the players arnt going to sign a contact now worth 5 or 6 thousand a week (i dont know what they are on a week) for the next 2 years when we could end up in the play off final and then they can request 14 or 15 thousand a week for an extra year at which point they think everytime they get a better position in the league every season they get a pay rise so they work harder to improve in hopes of getting 20-30k a week if we got promoted in the next 2 years with the same players and after that they push for the champions league and get 250k a week playing for barnsley

ok went abit over the top by the end of that

When did people start using 'of' instead of 'have'? When did this happen? Does anyone have a research paper? It remains a complete mystery to me, why this still happens in 2017.

I think there are several reasons for this. On the one hand, far less reading goes on these days, so a lot of people have no conception of what actually looks right. Also, the widespread use of text messaging has resulted in people seeking the shortest way of getting their message across. In addition to this, for many years English grammar ceased to be taught in most schools. I am sure that if you stood on Market Hill and asked passers-by to explain the difference between a verb and a preposition. most of them would have no idea what you were talking about.

Probably at the same time as they started using "been" instead of "being" and totally lost the plot with regard to "there" and "their".

    This probably being simplistic

but could we not just offer them a new one or two contract (say one or two years) with 'signing on fee' sweetener , and a guaranteed release clause of however millions (fair amount) dependent on the player,. The player knows certainly players like CH,SW that there will still be clubs after them.
If we did that we as a club would get a good fee and the players would be able to negotiate better wages as clubs fought over them

    This isn't Football Manager.

My texts (and those I receive) are written in proper English, it takes only a few seconds longer to do and is helped and hindered in equal measure by the damned predictive text function. I find that taking those few extra seconds helps me to think about what I'm saying and often allows me to correct errors before I send.

You wouldn't send txt spk gobbledegook to a prospective employer, you'd write your job application properly, so just do it all the time.

It certainly is. I was never one of those that wanted rid. Not much point in carrying on if you just offload your best players because the team's going through a bad patch.

That's easy. A preposition is a word you should never end a sentence with.

I remember the Op wanting to give Conor away at that time as he only takes corners and anyone can do that.
